Hey! I'm Jordi den Houter (J pronounced like a Y).

I'm a British/Dutch designer based in London. I was born in the Netherlands, moved to Hong Kong in 2005, moved to Kenya at the start of 2010 before moving to the UK in 2014 where I've been since. For me this has shaped who I am as a person as I've met so many different people from all over the world and got the chance to experience unique cultures and traditions. This has helped me greatly with my creative practice as I'm constantly open to new ideas and working with new people.

I graduated in 2022 with First Class Honours from Graphic and Media Design at the University of the Arts London, London College of Communication.

A lot of my work is based around branding and identity but I like to experiment and learn outside of my comfort zone. I've recently started looking more into UI/UX design and motion graphics and even tried out 3D design. I've even started to learn a little bit of code towards the end of university to try and apply that to my work.

One thing that got me into design was video games. Video games have been an important part of my life and what got me learning about design. This was due to opportunities presented while playing games (Fragdeluxe).  For me it was such a big factor in where I am now that I even wrote my dissertation on esports and its developing design industry.

Design and creativity for me has also become an outlet for my emotions and experiences. A few of my projects are tied to this (Untitled Animation, To be creative) and are an exploration of my journey and experience with creativity and mental health.
